What this chapter covers

Begin with equal human worth, then explore how rights apply in everyday life. The chapter covers freedoms, children’s rights, equality, national minorities and protection against discrimination.

Use concrete situations to connect the ideas: participation at school, access to a service or treatment at work. Equal rights do not always mean identical support; removing a barrier can be necessary for people to participate on equal terms.
