What SFI D proves

A passing grade in SFI course D is on Migrationsverket’s list of accepted evidence of Swedish. It does not by itself prove knowledge of Swedish society or satisfy the other citizenship requirements.

Ask your school for a transcript showing the course, result and your identity. Keep the original. Migrationsverket decides whether the evidence in your application is sufficient.

Language and civics are different requirements

The accepted Swedish evidence includes specified school and adult-education grades. The current list also names Tisus. The society requirement instead lists grades in civics or social subjects from the specified school levels or Komvux. Check the subject as well as the course level.

The knowledge requirements generally cover ages 16–66. Age exceptions and individual exemptions are different from proving knowledge through a grade. Do not treat a QuickSwedish practice result as an official qualification.

Language test: availability is not a fixed date

As checked on 3 October 2026, UHR says the Swedish test will be introduced later. Migrationsverket warns that it may arrive later than planned. There is no bookable sitting established by these sources.

The Government’s February 2026 assignment used 1 October 2027 as a development timetable for reading and listening. That is not a booking promise. Speaking and writing form a later stage. We do not label an SFI course or our practice score as a universal CEFR equivalence.

What you can do now

  1. Find your existing grades and compare each subject with Migrationsverket’s current list.
  2. If you need a course, contact your municipality about SFI or Komvux. Ask about placement, study hours and accessibility.
  3. Practise Swedish regularly while keeping official requirements separate from learning goals. Read the SFI guide or start language practice.
