How the language works
The definite form: dagen, veckan, klockan
Swedish has no separate word for 'the'. Instead you add an ending to the noun: en dag → dagen, en vecka → veckan, ett år → året, ett tåg → tåget. En-words take -en (or -n after a vowel), ett-words take -et (or -t after a vowel). Klockan, veckan and dagen are definite: 'Klockan är tre', 'Vi ses på måndag i nästa vecka'.
