Chapter 11 · Sweden and the wider world
Svenska och andra nordiska ministrar ska fatta ett sakbeslut i Nordiska ministerrådet. Vilken huvudregel gäller?
Swedish and other Nordic ministers are taking a substantive decision in the Nordic Council of Ministers (Nordiska ministerrådet). What is the main rule?
Correct answer: No member country may vote against the decision
Substantive decisions require unanimity: no country may vote against, but a country may abstain. Each country has one vote; an exception allows a simple majority for procedural matters.
